What are Bagel Boards and Bagel Scoops?

      The skimmer spoon is just right for lifting your homemade bagels out of the boiling water. Moving your bagels from boiling water to an ice bath or bagel board is a critical step that’s easy with the right tool. A wide, flat skimmer spoon makes a great bagel scoop for getting the job done without damage to the tender dough.

      For achieving a uniform bake on your bagel. Bagel is taken from the boiling water, or ice bath (depending on your method), dipped in their topping and placed topping side down on the wet burlap side of the bagel board. The board is then set directly on a hot baking stone to bake for about 4 minutes before being flipped over onto the stone to finish baking.
